Patrick County Public Schools is committed to maintaining an educational environment and workplace that is free from harassment. In accordance with law, PCPS prohibits harassment against students, employees, or others on the basis of sex, sexual orientation, gender, gender identity, race, color, national origin, disability, religion, ancestry, age, marital status, pregnancy, childbirth or related medical conditions, military status, genetic information or any other characteristic protected by law or based on a belief that such characteristic exists at school or any school sponsored activity. 

Any student or school personnel who believes he or she has been the victim of harassment on one of the aforementioned bases should report the alleged harassment to the Title IX Coordinator. Any school personnel who has notice that a student or other school personnel may have been a victim of prohibited harassment shall immediately report the alleged harassment to the Title IX Coordinator. Any complaint that involves the Title IX Coordinator should be reported to the superintendent. Complaints may be made verbally or in writing using the “Report of Harassment” form found in PCPS Board Policy GBA-F/JFHA-F. The school division shall take necessary steps to protect the person allegedly harassed and others pending the completion of the investigation. Retaliation against students or school personnel who report harassment or participate in any related proceedings is prohibited.
